  • The Power of Personalized Therapy: Your Key to Lasting Recovery at Seasons

    TL;DR:

Marit Lee details Seasons’ intensive individualized approach, featuring up to 65 one-on-one sessions per month with doctoral-level primary therapists, minimal group sessions, and comprehensive individual work with various specialists including psychiatrists, MDs, and holistic practitioners offering cutting-edge modalities like EMDR, somatic experiencing, brain spotting, and hypnotherapy.

    About Marit Lee:

As Admissions Director, Marit Lee has become an expert at articulating what sets Seasons apart from other treatment facilities, particularly in terms of clinical intensity and individualized care. Her academic background in psychology from Cal Poly Humboldt gives her the knowledge base to understand and communicate the significance of their staffing model and therapeutic approaches. Her Master’s research on parental bonding and substance use has shown her how individual factors can vary dramatically between clients, reinforcing her appreciation for highly personalized treatment.

Having worked at Seasons for over a decade, Marit has witnessed firsthand how the intensive one-on-one model produces different outcomes compared to group-heavy programs. Her progression from Admissions Counselor to Director has given her insight into what clients are seeking when they call for help – often they’ve tried other programs that didn’t provide the level of individual attention or clinical sophistication they needed.

Marit’s role requires her to translate complex clinical offerings into understandable benefits for potential clients and their families. She’s learned to emphasize not just the quantity of sessions (up to 65 individual sessions per month) but the quality of practitioners and evidence-based modalities that distinguish Seasons from facilities that rely primarily on group programming or less credentialed staff. Her admissions conversations often involve helping clients understand why this level of individual attention justifies the investment in their recovery.

    Video Transcript:

Here at Seasons, we do emphasize one-on-one therapy, all doctoral level primary therapy, and it works out to up to 65 individual sessions over the course of the month. So it is a much more one-on-one intensive program than others, and we’ll do about one or two small relevant groups per day. But the rest of the day will be work with your doctoral level primary therapist, with a master’s level case manager, with our psychiatrist, with our MD, the different holistic practitioners doing things like EMDR, somatic experience, brain spotting, hypnotherapy, and so forth. So a number of cutting-edge, evidence-based approaches are being done here. And definitely, it’s a one-on-one therapy emphasized program.

    Key Insights:

Marit quantifies the intensive nature of their program with “up to 65 individual sessions over the course of the month,” which represents a significant departure from industry standards where group therapy often dominates programming. This level of individual attention allows for deep, personalized exploration that might not be possible in group settings.

The emphasis on doctoral-level primary therapists establishes clinical credibility and expertise that appeals to discerning clients who want to work with the most qualified professionals available. This staffing model represents a significant investment in quality over quantity.

Her mention of “cutting-edge, evidence-based approaches” like EMDR, somatic experiencing, brain spotting, and hypnotherapy demonstrates that Seasons stays current with therapeutic innovations while maintaining scientific rigor. These modalities often access healing pathways that traditional talk therapy alone cannot reach.

The minimal group programming (one or two small groups daily) shows intentional design rather than resource limitation, recognizing that some clients, particularly executives and professionals, may prefer the privacy and focus of individual work.

    Reflection Questions:

    • How important is individual attention versus group support in your own learning or healing processes?
    • What value do you place on working with the most highly credentialed professionals available?
    • Which of these specialized therapeutic approaches (EMDR, somatic experiencing, brain spotting, hypnotherapy) intrigues you most and why?
