Why Addiction is a Silent Killer

Why Addiction is a Silent Killer

I believe that we as a nation are dealing with an addiction crisis because it is humiliating to reach out and ask for help. Addictions are so easy to fall back on in hard times. They ruin families and lives with little to no remorse. I believe that if help was more accessible and spoken about more people would reach out. The consequences of addiction are losing those you love, ruining your body, and being a shutout in society. We can remedy this on an individual level by being more openminded and kind, forgiving even. We as a society need to normalize help. Also as a society, it is our job to speak out about issues at hand and to be the people that are there for others.
