Addiction Awareness: Questions and answers
I believe that we as a nation are dealing with an addiction crisis because some of our youth are around bad influences that give them all of the negative knowledge about drugs. Recently, the presidential election caused some states to legalize all types of drugs. tetrahydrocannabinol, also known as marijuana, is a big one and has been legalized in Oregon, Arizona, and many other states. What I fear the most is now that most of these drugs are legalized in these states, specifically in Arizona where I live, it will affect everyone from 14 years of age to even grown men at 35-40 years old.
There are many consequences to come for a lot of american citizens. I Believe this because 3 years ago I used to have friends that were a bad influence on me before I switched from a public to charter school. I used to give money to those friends and they would go out and use it to sell drugs and eventually myself and those individuals would make profit. Fortunately I stopped, and as I moved on with my life, I still see people at 17 years old getting into the phase of addiction and clueless about what drugs can do to an adolescent in the long run.
The only way we can simply treat this crisis it’s by simply just informing Young adolescents at an early age about addiction and what it is. They need to obtain this knowledge simply from other attics or even former attics instead of experiencing it in the future and cluelessly not knowing how it can impact the rest of their lives.
